MannatThis contemporary sculpture takes on the myth of Kalpa Vriksha- the wish-fulfilling tree. Mannat is about the excitement of making wishes, the anticipation of waiting for them to come true, and the realization that sometimes we don’t cherish or count our blessings. Inspired by the ancient ritual prevalent in many parts of India of making wishes by tying threads on a tree, Mannat is made using the beautiful Bidar craft of black casting and silver inlay. Write a wish on the gold leaf paper that comes with the tree, and tuck it inside the little Devotee cones that go on the tree…and wait for your wishes to come true. This symbol of life and growth, of endurance and prosperity, of generosity and tolerance add a spiritual dimension to your life.
